A night out on the town....???

I can't believe, I was at a real " down home" night club...with Sissy and my friend Edna. I am surprised the place didn't implode!!! with me being there after being out of such "happenings" for so many years. But, it was kinda fun and interesting.   Not really my thing..but it was a stretching of my comfort zone.

We were there in support of my "college family" brother and his Motorcycle Club's MLK Day celebration. He is such a sweetheart and has truly been a brother to me for the past 40 years!!!! OMG! I hadn't counted the years until now!!!.    I am so blessed to have such good and loving friends.

I am a great dancer...still am and always have been...lol ..so I did dance some...however, I did leave there with this burning questions....are all the men my age 5' 5" and under????  Am I unusually tall or have they strunk or have they always been this short????   Now, I remember why I only dated basketball players....lol!!!   I am really gonna have a findout where the old tall men spend their time...LOL!!!

My Personal Vision Statement

My personal vision is to leave life better than I found it… better than how I have previously experienced it…and enjoy the remainder of my life to the fullest. To embrace my maturity, yet dream with the abandon of a child! To never stop working at becoming my optimum self: physically, emotionally, intellectually, creatively and most importantly spiritually. To that end, I will maintain a lifestyle of healthy living, self-affirmation, determination, and action! I will retire“refired” and financially sound, start my school, and love again. I want to be a living legacy for my grandchildren! My faith in God , obtaining my goal weight and staying physically fit are foundational to accomplishing this vision. Artist Statement / About Me

CREATIVITY is hard wired in my DNA. It is my life’s blood and blessing. Creativity is the force that drives my passion to experiment with new art forms and my curiosity to work with and combine different mediums. Captivated by the textures of fibers and textiles, mesmerized by the beautiful colors of beads, and intrigued by the promise of a found object, my creative nature has led to my interest in bead, fiber, and mixed media arts. For over 30 years, my creative journey has been a glorious discovery of mediums, techniques and the evolution of my art.

I am an African American, culturally inspired fantasy mixed-media 3-D Fiber Artist, creating one of a kind figurative sculptures using fabric with an array of other mediums. I also creates using, bead and mixed media embroidery, hand and machine felting, fabric dyeing, painting, stamping and manipulation. My other areas of interest include: collage, polymer and paper clays, mosaic tiles, jewelry making and scrapbooking.
